Michael McCarthy, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and 16 years’ experience as a licensed psychotherapist. He received his master of clinical social work from Boston University.  He has worked for many years in teaching hospitals in San Francisco and New York, in both outpatient clinics, emergency rooms and on inpatient units.  Michael has also been on the faculty at both the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital New York and at the New York University Silver School of Social Work.  His experience has exposed him to clients from all walks of life with a range of problems and issues. He uses the skills and knowledge he’s gleaned over years of experience, mixed with his own personal style of compassion and humor to make clients feel supported and cared for as they get better.
